Interested in enjoying more local beer? Don’t overlook Aslin Beer on South Pickett Street in Alexandria. This brewery is new to the area’s craft beer scene, having just opened in July. However, it is already making a name for itself thanks to its interesting and playful take on brewing. Aslin likes to have fun with its beer, as evidenced by brew names like Baby Shark and Champion of the Sun. They’re always experimenting to find the next taste sensation. Sometimes, it results in beer varieties like The Mind at Large, which is a mixed culture fermented lager that is aged in barrels previously used for sauvignon blanc.

This brewer doesn’t offer flights, but they do have half pours, which allows you to try a variety anyway. If you really want to get ingrained in local beer culture, consider joining the Mug Club, an exclusive membership selected via lottery that entitles you to a variety of perks. Those perks include early access on new beer release days, first access to bottle release, and a 10% discount on growler fills.
