Free Live Music on a Summer Night, What Could Be Better?

July 21, 2016 / editor

Happy Thursday! You have almost made it through another warm week here in Alexandria! If you are anything like us, you have probably been sitting at your desk or on the couch daydreaming of how to make the most of another Alexandria summer weekend.  Well, stop that daydreaming and start planning because the 9th Annual Del Ray Music Festival is this weekend!

This Saturday, July 23rd, after you get your errands done and have spent some time at the pool, head over to the eclectic Alexandria neighborhood, Del Ray.  Starting at 3pm at the Pat Miller Neighborhood Square, local musicians will perform on two stages until 8pm.  Here is the best part, to attend the music festival it will cost you zip, zero, zilch! Yup, that is right, the Del Ray Music Festival is free and open to everyone, young and old!

Been in the past? This year will prove to be even better because this year the three blocks of Mount Vernon Ave around the music festival will be closed to traffic.  Also, an extra special bonus this year is that Del Ray Pizzeria, Stomping Ground, St. Elmo’s, Pork Barrel BBQ, Taqueria el Poblano, Cheesetique and Caboose will be hosting pop-up beer gardens.

Free live music, beer, food on a warm summer night….. We can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday evening in Alexandria!
